Co-Founder & Managing Principal
Mr. Moreyra is Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Forge Capital Partners ("Forge") and Atlantic American Corporate Group, LLC ("AACG"), both diversified investment companies with interests in investment banking, merchant banking and private equity fund management. Since its inception, AACG has been involved in over $2 billion of capital market transactions involving debt and equity placements, leveraged buyouts, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Moreyra is also the President of Atlantic American Capital Advisors, LLC ("AACA") and Community Reinvestment Partners II ("CRP II"). AACA is an investment bank focused on providing investment banking services to small-cap and middle-market companies. CRP II is a $100 million private equity fund focused on Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) qualified investments in the Southeastern United States. Forge sponsored and manages CRP II.
Prior to forming AACG, Mr. Moreyra was a Managing Director with H.C. Wainwright & Co., Inc., one of the country's longest-standing, full service investment banking firms. At Wainwright, Mr. Moreyra focused on private placements, public offerings, debt placements and restructurings, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Moreyra joined Wainwright from The First American Investment Banking Corporation, where he was Managing Director of First American's investment banking group. During his tenure at First American, Mr. Moreyra completed several private placements, mergers and acquisitions, a leveraged management buyout, and an initial public offering.
Prior to joining First American, Mr. Moreyra was Vice President of Corporate Finance at William R. Hough & Co. (acquired by RBC Dain Rauscher), one of the southeastern United States' largest regional investment banking firms. At William R. Hough, Mr. Moreyra participated in both initial and secondary public offerings, private placements, and leveraged buyouts totaling over $100 million. Prior to joining William R. Hough, Mr. Moreyra was a Managing Director with Tunstall Consulting, Inc., a boutique corporate financial consulting firm specializing in strategic and financial advisory services to high-growth companies seeking capital from institutional lenders and investment banks. During his tenure, Tunstall Consulting was responsible for advising numerous companies in completing initial public offerings with "bulge bracket" investment banks.
Mr. Moreyra has substantial real estate experience, having served for eight years as Chief Executive Officer of Pardue, Heid, Church, Smith & Waller, Inc., a consulting firm focused on project finance, underwriting, loan restructuring and market feasibility analysis. Under his leadership, Pardue, Heid grew to be the country's largest privately held real estate consulting firm of its type. Mr. Moreyra later sold the firm to Primis, Inc., an industry consolidator.
Mr. Moreyra's experience spans a multitude of industries, from real estate to biomedical companies, and also includes a diverse cross-section of financial transaction experience from traditional real estate and corporate loans, to multi-firm roll-ups and consolidations, to leveraged buy-outs. Mr. Moreyra's experience as C.E.O. of a high-growth company, and his many years of experience dealing with financial institutions has allowed him to experience real estate and corporate finance from both sides of the field.
Mr. Moreyra founded Atlantic American Mortgage Partners, a private equity fund focused on distressed commercial mortgage investments and served on its investment committee. He also founded Forge ABS, a residential mortgage backed securities asset management company with over $1 billion under management. He has lectured on the topic of strategic planning and corporate finance to groups such as Inc. Magazine, The Executive Committee (TEC), and numerous colleges and universities. He also served as a member of the University of Florida's Graduate School of Business Real Estate Advisory Board, and on numerous private and public company board of directors. Mr. Moreyra received his M.B.A. from the University of Central Florida and is a graduate of Florida International University, where he received his B.B.A., majoring in Finance and Real Estate.
